The Clinical Pathways document was created to assist staff in selecting treatment methods specific to an individual client’s diagnoses. Beginning with a section on normal development that reminds staff of the appropriate physical, emotional/interpersonal and cognitive stages of child development, Clinical Pathways presents the diagnoses in simple language. Each diagnostic group typically served in children’s treatment programs contains suggested treatment interventions. This assists staff as they consider the appropriate action steps they can utilize to provide treatment. The suggested language and treatment ideas presented in Clinical Pathways provide a framework for clinical action steps in the Goal Writing module. Each treatment intervention suggested is also defined in Clinical Pathways, which can increase staff skills and the quality of treatment.1
